Albert Matthews, who opened it Wed nasday. The House was actually in session only four hours of the three day sitting. The session, briefest on record, was called by the Governm- ent to pass thrce measures designed to speed collection of overdue succes- sion duties. These three measures were given third reading without div- ision. DIES AT LUCKNOW John Joynt, member of the Legis- lature 1919-26, died at his home in Lucknow last Wednesday, aged 81 years. Native of Ireland, he was a selfmade man, owning 1,400 acres in Huron County at time of death, and -ngaged in many successful industri- '1. enterprises during his lifetime. In early days he engaged in the potash business. rns a large exporter of hardwood ashes for making soap, op- erated apple evaporator at Lucknow, Tee.swater and Walkerton.
