at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter'
Koehler for some months, has re-
turned to her home in Port Huron
this week.
Mrs. Adolph Kalbfleisch, of Detroit
has been here the past few weeks
in attendance with her mother, the
late Mrs. Amelia Schnell, who has de-
parted this life.
Rev. E. Twrkheiin, accompanied
by s. number of the members of the
W. M. Society of the Lutheran church
attended the conference held at Ham-
ilton recently.
Mrs. Menno Oesch attended the
funeral of her cousin, Mrs. Cranston
(nee Grace Torrence) who passed a-
way suddenly in Port Arthur. The
funeral was conducted from the home
of her mother, Mrs. John Torrance
of Clinton.

Miss Elizabeth Rennie of Kitchener;
Mrs. Jane Guenther of Mitchell; and
Mrs. Helen Southcott of Venice, Cali.

home of Mrs. Lydia Geiger:
Southcott is leaving shortly` for" her
home in the south.

OBITUARY
• Late Marcus Wild.
Marcos Wild died at his home on
the 'Goshen Line, Stephen Twp., on
Saturday after several months' illness
He was in his 77th year, ant, a life-
long resident of the community. He
is survived by his wife who was for-
merly Miss Mary Ann Miller; three
daughters, 14Irs. A. L. Fitzmaurice,
London; Mrs, Adelbert Snaith, Zurich
Mrs. Albert Regier, of Stephen Twp;
two sons, Joseph, of the Goshen line,
Stephen; and Clarence, at home, and
a brother, Felix, .at Dashwood. There
are also 3'7 grandchildren. The fun-
eral was held on Monday morning at
Mount Carmel Church with Rev. Fi
Fogerty officiating. Burial in Mt.
Carmel cemetery:
Late Amelia Schnell
A largely attended funeral paid
the last respects to Mrs. Amelia
Schnell of Zurich last Friday aftir-
.noon with'services in St. Peter's Lu-
theran church and interment in the
Lutheran cemetery. Rev. E. Turk-
heiii; the pastor, officiating. Mrs.
Schnell who was a highly respected
resident of the community was called
upon to do considerable suffering of
an illness which extended tor a few
years, but bore her sufferings with
christian fortitude. Was a resident
of the comnuinity all her life, and is
survived by two daughters of a for-
mer marriage to the late Peter Wag-
ner. The late John H. Schnell, her
last husband predeceased about 17
years ago. The surviving daughters
are: Mrs. Laura Durand, of Chilli-
wach, B.)C..and Mrs. Frieda Thomp-
son, of, Fielding, Sask;. also the chi)
dren of the late J. H. Schnell, David
Schnell and Mrs. Annie Hulburt, o`
Aberneen, Sask., Mrs. Adolph Falb
Nisch, of Detroit; Ferdinand of Mel-
ita, Man; Albert of Regina, Sask;
Mrs. Emma Mack, of Harte Sta.,Man.
Deceased had reached the age of 74
years, 4 months and 2 days, and be- •
sides these relatives leaves a large
cirele-of friends and neighbors who'
Zuaie11 will greatly miss the departed.
Much Grain Handled
With the arrival of two more ste-
amers over the week -end at Godericll
harbor, the amount of grain handled
in the last two weeks soared well a-
bove the million bushel masa. The
exact figures was 1,333,00 bushels,
brought in by eight vessels. There
was only one outgoing cargo.
