Last Wednesday, our publishing
day, was Ontario's election day,when
Ontario's youngest Premier Hon. M.
F. Iiepourn after three acne, a half
years of legislation at Toronto, went
to the people, and the result was that
Ontario likes his ways of doing things
and returned him to power with a
vast majority, although not quite so
overwhe"lming as in 1934 when he
was returned to power wean 70 out
of the -90 seats in the Province. The
result was as follows:

This is the 20th Legislature, and
one ,.can easily see • that the people

servatives gained six more meun!bers
than the last election and of 'course
the government has a few less. Hon.

ive party lost his riding to Dr.
{Simpson, the former Minister of Ed-
ucation by a small majority.. Some
strange things occurred in this elec-
tion as in every election. Some who
were .sure of thein, riding were left
