BASEBALL NEWS First Play-off Game On Wed. Sept. 8th the Flying Dut- chmen of Zurich swamped the 'Sea - Iforth team by the score of 16 to 2 lin the first game of the play-off for !the championship of the Huron Perth League. This game was played in Sea - forth. The local boys were "hot" andwent to work on the Seaforth the race track in centre for a home run, his 4th hit of the game scoring Yungblut and Oesch ahead of him. Atthis juncture the crowd went wild with delight as Zurich was new in the'lead and none out. I Yungblut then drove a long double to left field andwent to third when S. Rennie followed with a single to short left; Prang was safe when Wright the Sea- fonth, 1st baseman dropped the throw from short and the bases were filled. Tbster next up singled to Ieft field scoring I` Yungblut and S. Rennie andadvancing along with Prang to 2nd' and 3rd respectively on the threw to the plate;Stade then hit a hot line single to left centre scoring Prange and Foster with ,the 6th and 7th runs of the inning., At this point the rain came down in torrents and the game was willed by the umpires, with Zurich in the long. end of the score 13 to 7. Zurich now meets Crediton who earned a place in• the finals by Clinton's defaulting of .the second game of their series.
