3 Years and 10 Lashes
Walter •1V1ePherson, 43, of Green-
way Village, in McGillivray Twp.,
was sent ta Kingston. penitentiary
c last week to serve three years, and

imposed by Mag. C. W. Hawkshaw in
.counity police court at London. Mc-
Pherson, was, convicted of an incest
charge after a trial before the magis-
trate. :Five ,11:of the 10 lashes will be
imposed one month after McPherson
enters the penitentiary, and the re-
maining five after he 1,1B.s been there
nine months. "This may sound
harsh to you, 'but I think it is quite
fa lenient sentence in view of the
crime", the magistrate said.

Floats New issue
A. new $20,000,000 bond issue
was announced on. Friday for the On-
tario Govt. by Premier Hepburn, pro-
vincial treasurer. He said the terms
were the most favorable ever obtain-
ed by the province. The issue includ-
ed $10,000,000 three-year bonds car-
rying a coupon rate of two per cent.
and. for which the province paid 2.20
per cent., and $10,000,000 seven-
year bonds carrying coupons rate of
2% per cent, and for which the pro-
vince paid 2.85 per cent. Sale of the
bonds is being arranged through a
group of chartered banks and invest-
ment dealers.

A pretty wedding took place Sat-
urday, at St. Anthony Church, De-
troit, .,when IMaXine ettel, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. George Vetter, be-
eame the bride of Leonard Sopha,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Sopha,
of the Blue Water Highway, north of
at, Josoph. The bride was given in
marriage by her father, and was lov-
ely in a white Satin gown with long
trainover which fell a long silk net
veil. • The bride's flowers were white
roses and lilies of the valley. Miss
Geraldine, Meidinger, Zurich, was
maid .of honor, she wore yellow net
over satin floor length and carried
yellow roses. .:Miss Bernice Vetter
was bridesmaid, she wore pate green
net over satin and also carried yellow
roses. Mr. Clarence Sontfa, brother
of the groona acted as best man.
