Life In Fire A tragic death occurred in Exeter last Tuesday morning when Mrs. A. J. Little lost her life in an early morning fire that destroyed the one - storey frame cottage in Exeter north 2 sons and 3 little grandchildren of the deceased escaped tho' a bedroom window in bare feet and night attire 'being forced out onto a sleet covered earth on a cold morning. Everything the family possessed was destroyed and the family left destitute. Mrs. Little was in her 65th year. Mrs. Lit- tle had risen early and it is thought she had attempted to light a fire with coal oil when a burst of flame set fire to her clothes which wce burn- ed from the body. The above men- tioned were sleeping in adjoining room, and being awakened by the smoke broke oped the bedroom nrn; dow and escaped. With an axe th rear door was smashed in and the 2 sons surrounded by smoke and flames removed the body of their mother, life having departed. Both men were badly burned. The flames were soon brought under control by the firemen of the town.
