In Magistrate's Court
At Goderich Court on April 1st,
When Johrz iSundercock, hired man
for Alex. Smith, Tuckersinith Twp.,
quit Ms job some weeks ago, a dia-
mond Ting also disappeared, and it
was not a coincidence. On ThursdiiY,
,Sundercock told Magis. J. A. Makins
that while rummaging through a
drawer in search of a darning needle
with which to mend his socks, he was
temptecl by the sparkler. He pleaded
guilty to theft. It was his first c-
ense, the bench meting out suspend-
ed sentence on payment of he court
eosts. The ring was recovered. Even
the ex-mounties get their man. Co.
Constable Jennings, and R4C.M.P.
pensioner, early Thursday spied the
auto of •Howard Inas zig-zagging
on the road as Hicks drove home,
from a dance. Fourteen days in jail,
said the magis-trate. Clare Irwin, on
remand on vagrancy charge, sent
-word that he was too busy working
to come to count. The excuse, a gen-
uine one, was sweet music to leis wor-
ship, 'who promptly hoisted the case
for a month.
