The inspiring ser- mon of the morning held the atten- tion of the large audience; subject, "The Meaning of Easter." The choir ,pupported the service with a triumphant anthem. In the Sunday school session a short program con- sisting of songs and recitations was presented under the direction of Mrs. M. Ewald. In the evening ser- vice members of the Sunday School presented "The Red of the Dawn" e-iven in story and song. Steinbach had. been entered by burglars, the safe blown open and a considerable sunii of money and some jewellry carried off To Cultivate 1,300 Acres Further details on the purchase of 7,000 acres of farmland near. Grand. Bend, by Drs. L. G. and J. E. Hage meier, of Preston, was made known as the sale was confirmed. This pro- ject, the largest of its nature in On tario, is now being developed with 50 men employed. 1300 acres will be under cultivation this year with barley, sugar beets, soya beans a nd peas sown, while year by year, as the land is cleared, further cultivati- on will follow until 5,000 acres are under cultivation. Immediate plans are entirely of an experimental rat- vire with seed being planted in soil to which it is particularly adaptable. Mr. Frank Jeffrey of Beavertown, is doing the outside work for. Mr. Ed. ;Mousseau, who is confined to the house with a cold. Mrs. Alex. Masse of .the 14th con. was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, London 011 Monday evening, and op- erated on for appendicitis. Mr. Jery Mero of Zurich made a business call here on Monday. iSpring seems to be here, a goodly number of robins are seen, and ev- erything now points to an early seed- ing, as there is no snow on the gro- und, and the wind and sun are dry- ing off nicely. The surveyors are stili at work in staking out the fences to be built in the near future. The road bed on the Blue WaterHighway is very good at present. Mr. and Mrs. Ed.
