:: OBITUARY
Late David Blackwell
This .week we are called upon to
erehicle the passing of Mr. David
Blackwell, a prominent ferme.r.and
veteran of the Great War, who serv-
ed overseas with the 161st batalion,
and who died on Monday morning at
his home at the Parr line and Zurich
Road', Hay Township, in his 63rd
year. About a year ago his leg was
=initiated in Clinton hospital for an
infection, and it was thought he
Weald. again regain his former good
health, but recently he became weak-
er and after much suffering which he
Witlidllood with patience, he was cal-
led - to the heater world. Mr. Black -
Well was a hard working and ludas-
triazais farmer and was popular in his
•neighborhood as he was very honest
and uprigh. His wife. formerly Mi'
Dignan, daughter of the late Warren
Dignan, survives him, as does one
brother, Charles Blackwell, of Hay
Township. The funeral is being held
this Wednesday to Exeter Cemetery
for interment.
Late Mrs. Fritz
There .passed away at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. (Dr.) Pink, at
Deleware, Ont., on Sunday, Decem-
ber 1.8th Mrs. i\'Iary Josepnine Fritz,
relict of the late William Fritz, aged
.73 years. The depart:al was a native
of this community, being a member
of the Rau family, who lived north
of Drysdale, on the farm now owned
by Mrs. Joseph Rau. After her mar -
Liege to ,the late Mr, Wm. Fritz, they
lived at Crediton, Zurich and Grand,
Bend, -at which place Mr. Fritz died
in July 1.908. Mrs. Fritz and family
then Moved to Zurich until 1016
When she sold her property to Mr.
Ch L. :Smith, and moved to London,
at which place she still awns her
property on William St., and for the
last few years has lived with her
aughter, Mrs. Pink at Deleware.
Mrs. Fritz had been enjoying her us-
ual good health lately and the end
eame quite unexpected, in October,
she visited with Zurich friends for a
Week,staying at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. C. Fritz. Surviving are four
daughters:. Miss Veda Fritz at Lon.
don; .(Erma) Mrs, W. Moffatt of
Montreal; (Hazel) Mrs. Pink of Del -
mare; .aad (Marjorie) Mrs. L, Rid-
ley of Leridort; One brother, Mr'
John P. Rau of zurieh, and a sister
Mrs. Cha. Whitney of Galt, beside
a large circle of friends. The funeral
was held on Tuesday from Deleware
to Crediton 'Cemetery where the re -1
mains ;were laid besides her departed,
husband,.
