A large number of towns and cities will observe it as a holiday, while probably the smaller towns will not be so much concern- ed. It is now 18 years since the end of the war, and we trust it will be many more years before the world will again be thrust into such .an ungodly think as it was at that time. A Bad Accident What might have proven a much more serious accident occurrc_i 1:::.i. Thursday afternoon about 1.30 wl„ the auto owned by Mr. A. F. Hess of town was bringing in a company of young people from London to attend the big supper that evening. When the car neared the Parr line on the Zurich road, it became uncontrolablc and turned over several tunes with the (result that the occupants all but one were thrown out. The occupants being Miss Myrtle Raabe of South Bend, Ind; Mrs. Alois Welsenbach of Peroia, Ills; Mr. Graham Kee a med- ical student of London; Mr. Paul Hess a student at London University; and son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Hess of town, and Mr. Gordon Block of Zurich. Miss Raabe apparently was the only one that was not thrown out when the car rolled over several., times, and it is nothing short of a miracle that not more serious injur- ies were a result. Mr. Paul Hess, the driver, evidently was injured ed with the steering wheel in his abdomen; and he was taken the same evening., to Victoria Hospital, London, where he underwent an operation for in - 1 ternal injuries, and is progressing as',. . well as could be hoped for. The: other four occupants of the car re -1 ceived numerous minor injuries and tur D0ft. wEI are up and about feeling none the , worse of their terrible shakeup.
