Report Big Ooats Yield
Parkhill In spite of drought con-
ditions in the district for two months
a field of oats, grown by Charles A.
Bannister, of Ailsa Craig, yielded 60
bushels to the acre. When it had be-
en cleaned and graded at the Park-
hill Agricultural Seed Gleaning ,Plant
it ran 46 pounds to the bushel. The
10 -acre field was sown from register-
ed banner graded seed and produced
600 bushels of grain. Elevator men
who are working day and night to
handle the heavy movement of, grain
stated it was the best oats crop ever
handled through .the local elevator.
DECLARES NO ITCH
Grand Bend is all upset over re-
ports that bathers in Lake Htiron are
suffering from fisherman's itch. Old-
timers up there say there is nothing
to the stories as far as Grand Bend
is concerned. "I have been here for
40 years acid T never heard of fisher-
man's itch," declared Bruce Bossen-
berry, 'Grand Bend hotel proprietor.
"There is no itch at Grand Bend."
So the chief dispute seems to be whe-
ther or not there is such a thing as
fisherman's itch. Dr. L. A. Mackay,
of the Ontario health department,
has left for Lake Huron to investi-
gate.—London Free Press.
