Just think of it, Sunday June
21st • is the beginning of summer,
and when we will have tlxe longest

STEPI-IEN COUNCIL
The Township of Stephen 'Court of
Revision held, its first meeting in the
Town Hall, Crediton, on May 26th.
at 1 p.m. After each member had
subscribed to his affidavit, a number
of minor ' appeals were dispo 4f f,
such as adding and striking of gs
and making changes in names` of
assesed owners. The following ap-
peals were also considered and decid-
ed upon:

From the Exeter Times -Advocate,
asking far the job to print the 1936
voters' list at the same price as last
year, viz: 100. Granted.
The Clerk read the report of Geo.
A. ! McCuibibin, O.L:S., which he had
-prepared under the provisions of The
Municipal Drainage Act for the re-
pair of "The Lewis Drain and which
had been served with plan and profre
and specifications an the Reeve of
the Township of Stephen by the Clerk
of the Townsip of McGillivray on
the 9th of May 1936. The total
cost of the work is estimated to be
$1227.24 of which the lands dud
roads in the Twp of Stephen are as-
sessed 21% of the `former .assessiu-
ent or $137.97. It was moved by Roy
Ratz and seconded by E. Lamport:
That the report be received and ac-
cepted and that By -Law No. 506 ,to
provide for the repair of "rhe Leii*is
Drain" in McGillivray, having ben

Rev. J. G. Litt Passes
Rev. John G. Litt, M. A., a for-
mer pastoor of Emanuel Evangelical
church, Zurich, and a superanuated
minister of the •Evangerical church,
died at his honie in Waterloo after
a year's illness an Wednesc:ay June
10th, aged 82 years. Death came on-
Iy a few months after he had cele-
brated the 50th anniversa;:y as a min-
ister.. Mr. Litt served as pastor in
the Canada Conference for 42 years
during which time., he was "'residing.
Eider fora number' of years. He
retired to, Waterloo eight years ago.
He`was born in Sebringville and later
moved to Carrick Township and Ros-
tock. During his ministry. he served
in Elmwood, Hanover, Rainham, Kit-
•ehener, Crediton. Camnrien, Toronto,
Zurich and Sebringville. Three years
he was pastor at Zurich beginning in
1922, Surviving are his sorrowing
widow, one daughter Lorna at home,
and two sons. Dr. Litt of Los Angles
and Ralph Litt of Toronto. The I
Funeral was held on Monday from
Waterloo where serviees were heid,,l.
and interment taking place hi the
Sebringville cemetery. Some thirty
ministers of various denominations
attending: Rev. E Burn taking part
in the service,
