LipphardF of town the other day when a lounge on the porch took fire. Caterpillar nests in a nearby tree were being destroyed and the wind carried some paper on- to the lounge. Last Wednesday evening, Mrs. Jacob Gingerich of the Goshen Line, south regeiyed_ til ,sad news that. her brother, Mr. Christian lipfer .of Hopedale, Ill., had died from the re- sults sof a stroke. He was the third oldest son of Mrs. Leah Kipfer and the lea) Menne Kipfer, of the Parr Line Hay. He was born near St. Agatha, and was married to Miss 'Susie Miller and three daughters and one son were born to them Who now survive. They live on a farm bear' Hopedale. Deceased was aged it 57 years, and was burried on Friday, June 5th. Much sympathy is feltfor the bereft family. Mr. and Mrs. Chris. Kipfer had visited this vicinity last fall, with the former's mother and relatives and friends. Married Forty Years Mr. and Mrs. William O'Brein, of town Iest Wednesday realized that they were married forty years and r id u- , Xl, their children all gathered in the ev- ening when a quiet little celebration was held among the family. This happy and popular couple of forty years, were married at the bride's home, Hay Township, by tine Rev. Mr. Carrier of Grand Bend, and of whom many of us have fond recollect- ions. Mr. and Mrs. O'Brein have spent practically all their married life improved greatly in Zurich, and as they tiiin:� back'o1 the changes in general conditions these forty years have brought about one must wonder what will the next four decades bring to this fair Can- ada of ours. A rather coincidence of this event was that it was also on a Wednesday, and.Leap Year as well: We wish Mr. and Mrs. O'Brein many more years of continued wedded and life together. However, Thurs day's game with Clinton on the local diamond may change that as the boys from Clinton have since the start of the season and are going to be hard to beat. A real game is in store for you in this one. So don't miss it! Last Thursday, Seaforth came to town and the locals took them into camp by a 20 to 2 score. As the score indicates, it was a wierd game and as a result was anything but in- teresting to watch. Monday our lads travelled to Staffa and a good close game was played there with the Zur- ich boys filially coming out on top with the score 3 to 1.
