Mr. William Beaver of Kitchener,
called in town on Wednesday.
Miss Jessie MacDonald was a week
end visitor at her home near Kincar-
dine.
Mrs. C. Eilber is spending a few
days with friends at Hensall this
week.
Miss Elizabeth .Truemner of De-
troit, was a visitor with relatives in
town.
Mr. Louis Wurm has left to make
his home with his son Mr. Alvin'
Wurm, near Hensall.
Hay Council met on Tvionday for
the June meeting and much business
was transacted.
The half -holiday season begins this
week and the town looks quiet and
deserted this Wed. afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. O'Brein, Miss
Olive, and Mr. and Mrs. Gid. Koeh-
ler motored to London on Saturday.
Mr. -and Mrs. Samuel Gottschalk,
of Dashwood, and who, have recently
moved to that place from Seaforth,
called on friends here Monday.
Mrs. Barbara Surerus was at Kit-
chener the past week, when she at-
tended the wedding of her daughter
Miss Geralding, to Mr. Koine of that
• city.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Meinger, Leo
i'iieininger and Master Richard Get-
tus of Detroit, were week end visit-
ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H
F. Weseloh.
Mrs. Irvin Dedels and daughter
Marion. of Kitchener spent 'a few days
with the former's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ed. Datars Sr., Mx. Datars
who has been in bed for a few weeks
is not improving as we would like to
see him.
The heaviest rains seen in many a
day was witnessed here on Monday
night, when practically all night the
torrent of water fell, and many a
cellar in town experienced water, as
well as anany fields and gardens are
flooded. It came at a rather unex-
pected 'time, when the farmers had
ther bean grounds about ready for
seeding. It will be some time before
lthe water will be cleared -away in

.Dr. Amy Neudorffer, returned Mis-
sionary from India of the Sister de-
nomination of the Lutheran church,
delivered the first of her addresses on
tl iiib1ect "Christ and .the Indian
Village." She said that the wonder
is not that missions have accomplish-
ed so much. She thought that signs
of heart hunger in India at present
time, presented a wonderful oppor-
tu14ty to Christian Missions. The
church in India she stated is follow -
in ` the Master into the villages to
the corninou people who hear him
gladly.

Mrs. Kellerman's theme for the
elternoon worship period was "Are
Ye Able". A touching feature was the
memorial service led by Miss S. Weg-
enast into which each auxiliary paid
tribute to the lost by death during
.the, year. The Ways and Means com-
mittee brought in a series of recom-
mendations for the ensuing year rel-
ating to activities. The second ad-
dress by the guest speaker Dr. Neu-.
dorfer dealt. with "The New India,
the Old Gospel" The New India, said
the speaker, is a land of (beautiful
'roads, railway busses, radio, educati-

the minority Christians. Leaders look
forward to the day when these rich-
