For 'a period of two and a.half years the parish was administered to by the Franciscan Fathers who came from Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1905 the Rev. A. Stroeder became its second pastor. He labored here until the end of November 1928 spending nearly the years of his silver jubilee of ord- ination within the confines of the parish. Mr. David B1askeve1l of the Zurich Road, near the Parr Line, who re- cently had one of his legs amputated in the Clinton Hospital, has been abl, to return home and we are pleased to report is recovering nicely. Mrs. C. Eil er; Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Snaith and Mae motored to Stratford on Sunday where they called on Mrs Gibros, a relative of the former, who was quite seriously injured in a bad fall recently. The Hensall Citizens' Band have engaged Zurich's popular painter and decorator, Mr. Harry Eickmeier, as Band Master to take the place of Mr N. Battersby, who has sold his busin- ess in Hensall and moved to Exeter. The Hensall band intend playing ev- ery Sunday evening during the mon- ths of June, July and August. Heavy rains visited this part of Western Ontario on Saturday after- noon, and the ground was fairly drenched, in fact the heaviest rain we have had in a few years. Wile the rain delayed the seeding operati- ons for some days, yet it was a good help to the fall wheat and grassmed- ows, who were at places net Iooking too good. ST. Mrs, Ferd Haberer read the following address, and wrs. L. Prang made the presentation: Dear Mrs. Foster: We the members of the Ladies' Aid Society and of the W.M. S. of St. Peter's Lutheran church, regret very much that we are going to lose you and your family as neigh- bors. but not as friends. We admire the liberal use you have always made of your time, your talents, and your means to help to promote every good cause in our midst. You have given splendid leadership in our Society, ,and your place will be hard to fill. While we are sorry indeed to see you go, ws are hereto night to extend to you our very best wishes for the fut- ure. May God bless you and yours in your new abode. It is our hope that you will not altogether forget your old felIow workers, but that we l shall frequently see you visiting your old hone church and friends.
