Mr. and Mrs. Max. Turnbull of the
Blue Water south, and 'Mr. and Mrs.
Stewart Webb celebrated their wed-
ding anniversaries -together -on Dec-
ember 12, with a fowl 'dinner at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Turnbull'.s.
This date marks the twenty-fifth an-
niversary for Mr. and 'Mrs. Turnbull
and the sixteenth for Mr. and 1VIrs.

Car is Damaged
When driving along the Bayfield
Road early one morning recently,
Clayton Elliott had the misfortune
to have his car damaged and his face
cut by a deer which collided 'withhis
car while attempting to cross Otho
road. The deer had its leg broken
and had to be killed. The meat was
taken to the County Home, 'Clinton.
There. were also two other deer. -
Died in Kitchener
Word was received here of the
passing of Mrs. Arthur Goodie, nee
(Alice Weseloh) of Kitchener. De-
ceased was a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. August WWeseioh of
Hensall. She was in her 58th year,.
and is survived, by her husband, one
daughter, .ane son and six sisters and
a brother. '
LESS POPULATIONS
In the various municipalities in the
county the populations are decreas-
ing according to statistics: In 1931
the population of Hay Twp. was
2689 while 1941 it is 2542, Sea -
forth had 16186 in 19:31 and now has
1625. Huron County in whole sho
wed a decrease from 45,180 to
43,513.
To Hold Meeting
Arrangements have :been made by
the Executive of the Huron Plowing'
Match committee to hold the Annual
Meeting of this organization in the
Agricultural Office Board room, Cl.
inton, on Saturday afternoon, Decem-
ber 20th at2 p.m, In addition to the
election of officers for the year 1941-
42, it is anticipated to have present
Mr. J. A. Carroll, Secretary -Manager
of the Ontario Plowmen's Associat-
ion and a number of officials of that
organization. The International Plo
ughing Match scheduled between Sea -
forth and Clinton on October 13, 14,
15, 11 -6th, 1942.

CIVIC COATS FOR CHAMPS.
Stratford — (embers of the -Strat-
ford Nationals Baseball Club, of
which Mr. 'Harold Stade, sin of Mr.
and Mrs. R. F. Stade, Zurich, is a
prominent member, were presented
with windbreakers at a dinner on De-
cember 8th held in honor of the
champions of the senior "B" series
of .the Inrtercounty Baseball Associ-
ation and the senior "B" champions
of.'the' :Ontario Baseball Association.
The;`NrindlbreaJkers were gifts of the
C4tyi Council and were presented by
�,la rman Monteith. Both hockey and
'oaseball were well represented, as a
number of ,celebrities of both games
were present at the banquet, also
Mayor Henry of the city. The champ-
ionship medals of the Ontario Base-
ball Association were presented. Car-
ter Kerslake, Nationals pitcher, a
recent bridegroom was surprised by
'Manager D. McKenzie, who presented

drafting new regulations restricting
use of .crude rubber in manufacture
of civilian goods in Canada to the
extent that use of rubber for non-
essentials will be e]iinirrated. The re-
gulations also will virtually cut off
all Canadian exports of rubber art-
icles for civilian customers. Thee
articles include such things as storm
rubbers and rubber sport shoes. In
