BOOKS FOR SOLDIERS
Special arrangements have been
made by the Canadian Post Office
Department to facilitate the sending
of books to Oanadian Forces in
camps in Canada and in Newfound-
land. The value attached by soldiers,
sailors and airmen to a plentiful .sup-
ply of books in their reading rooms,
etc., has been stressed both by the
men themselves and by those who
have visited their camps. good, Inter-
esting books are always in demand
and it is highly important that the
supply should be frequently replen-
ished. Arrangements have been
made to leave these books with your
local postmaster who will see to it
that they reach the right channels to
the right places.

MAN KILLED AT I4ENSALL
On Saturday evening :a bad acci-
dent occurred at the intersection of
No. 4 highway when Fred W. Kohl,
of Barr, truck driver for McManus
Petroleum Co., London, lost his life
in collision with a sedan driven by
James H. Messer of Toronto, who
was northbound on No, 4 highway
The big oil truck plowed into the
onooming sedan and in the mixnp
hydro poles and wires were strewn
around as well as oil barrens broken
open and their contents spilled about
Linemen were soon on the scene and
put in new posts and repaired the
wires. Just what happened to t he
man that was killed will never be
known, as he •did not regain consci-
ousness before he passed on in the
Seaforth Hospital.
