Some fifty aunts and uncles of Ivan's gathered for the event and presented him with a foun- tain pen and pencil and registration holder. Mrs. Leasom Desjardine, of Grand Bend doing the honors. Rel- atives were present from Kitchener, Grand Bend, Seaforth, Shipka, Kit chener, "Zurich and Hensall. Death of George Troyer A shadow of gloom was cast over this community on 'Friday morning last, when it was learned of the sud- den passing of one of its life long residents in the person of George Troyer in his 60th year. He leaves to mourn his loss his sorrowing wife formerly Miss Mice Taylor and one son Gordon at home and three sisters Mrs. W. Dignan, and Mrs. W. Hyde of Hensall, and Mrs. A. Bell of Lon- don. A private funeral was held, on Sunday afternoon from his Late residence, conducted by the Rev. Mr Weir of Hensall, with interment in Hensall Union Cemetery. ST. After the ceremony, they left for ,Cha,tliam• where they were received at the home of the bride's sister. On their return they will reside at the grooms residence, on Louise Street, Zirricli. OBITUARY Many Attend Funeral A large number of Zurich friends 'attended the funeral of the late Jnhn: Preeter, a former prominent business• man of Zurich, who passed away at; his home on October 6th in his 70th .year. After disposing cf his general' store in Zurich in 1922 the family* moved to Kitchener where he purch- ased a ladies wear shop, and after disposing of this he retired. IYrrs., Preeter predeceased a few years age. Deceased was born in Seaforth and learned the mercantile trade in Cred- iton, after which he came to Zurich conducting ,a general store for some twenty years. lite was a faithful and devoted member of the Evangelical church, being Sunday School Super- intendent for a number of years in Zurich. Surviving are one son Russel J. of Toronto; two daughters, Miss Muriel of Kitchener and Mrs. (Rev.) Paul Price of Philadelphia, Pa., three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Stacey, and Miss Fannie Preeter, both of Dashwood, and Mrs. Lean Willort of Centralia, and four grand children. The funeral was held from the home, at Kitche;-1 er w;th interment in Lingelbach sem- etery,, Dr. 0. A.
