During the electrical storm one night last week the house of Mr. Oscar Klopp was struck by lightning. The chimney being knocked down and other minor damages done. Mr. August Bedard of Windsor, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bedard of De- troit; and the gent's sisters, Mother Estella and Sister Eugene of Chat- ham, and Mr, and Mrs. Max Denom- mee of Detroit were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph ;Bedard, north of St. Joseph. Mr. and Mrs, Morley Witmer of Detroit were visitors with her moth- er, Mrs. Clara Decker. the foemer.•'s children, Betty and Kennette Witmer who have been visiting 11,1.VA their grandma returning home with them. Master Charles May of Detroit was also a recent visitor at–the home of Mrs. Decker. Auto Leaves Road While motoring up from Platts- ville, on Tuesday afterneen and a short distance west of Hensall, the •^.r o*=_led and driven by Mr. Ab- eam Eckel of Platts ville and Who was on his way to Zurich, left the road and turned over with consider- alble damage to itself. The occupants were Mr. and Mrs. Eckel and a lady friend all of Piattsville. Mrs. Eck- el suffered a considerable shaking up but the other two passengers were very little if anything injured. OBITUARY Dies at Grand Bend. Frank Geromette died on Monday at his residence in Grand Bend in his 77th year. He was born in Mon- treal and had resided in the Grand Bend district for the past nurr'-ier of years. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Gordon Turnibull, Mrs. Mae holt, of Grand Bend; Mrs. Melvin Dodds of Buffalo; four Sis- ters, Mrs. Alex Etue, of Zurich.; Mrs Theodore Devine, of Parkhill; Mrs. Abraham Disjardine, of Mt. Carmel; Mrs. Pat. Gooding•of Greenway; Mrs Randall of Detroit; two brothers, David Geromette of Mt. Carmel; Noah Geromette of Goderich. Fun- eral services are being held at the 1 residence on Wednesday. A memorial service is being held in Grand Bend United Church, followed by :atern- ment in Grand Bend cemetery.
