Held Reunion
Miss Evelyn Howard, of Toronto,
• spent the holiday with her parents.
Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Howard. On Sat-
urday they attended the Allan -Drys-
dale reunion held in Sarnia at Can-
atara Park. This park was visited by
a cyclone last week which left' deso-
lation in its trail. The splendid 100 -
foot pavilion was completely .ruined
Several trees were uprooted and
other: broken. The wreckage was
being removed and the pavillion is
being, rebuilt.—Exeter 'rimes -Advo-

AIRMAN DROWNS
Grand lend had its first drowning
accident of the season• on Wednesday
July 31st when Leading Aircrafts-
man harry Beaty, aged 29, of Kirk-
land Lake, was drowned midway be-
tween the Casino and the pier.. Born
at Guelph, he had been a miner at
Kirkland Lake. Ire May he enlisted
with the RCAF and was attached to
the Clinton Radio Techican School.

OBITUARY
Late Robert Drysdale
Word was received here of the
death of Robert Drysdale, writ) pass-
ed away at his home near Sandusky,.
Mich., on Saturday, August 2nd, in
his 67th year, having been in failing
health for the past year or so, but
taken serious a week previous. Born
at Drysdale on the lake shore road,
now known as the Blue Water High-
way-, and was a son of the late Rob-
ert Drysdale, postmaster and general
merchant and for whom the village
of Drysdale was named after. Some
forty years ago he took up residence
in l\Iichigan where he conducted a
general store. In 1901 he married
Sarah Johnston of Drysdale, who sur
vives him with one d.an rhter, Mrs,
Harold Forbes, of Marlette, Mich;
three sisters, Mrs. M. R. MacNeil of
Narvis, Sask; Mrs. 11. W. Stowvell,
Stettler, Alta., and Mrs. W. A. Mc-
Laren, Hensall, and two brothers,
Jack of Vancouver, B.C. and Mark
of Hensall. The funeral was held
from his home on August 5th with
Rev. I:lowett officiating, Burial was
in 1Vfarlette cemetery. Attending the.
funeral from iHentiall were: ifr, and
Mrs. G. M. Drysdale, Mrs. W. A, M'c-
Laren Mr. and Mrs. (leo Ties;, Mr,
and Mrs. Geo, Howard, i+.xet.er; and
Mr, Ralph Stephenson, Varna.
