More than 500 people gathered at.
the; C.N.R. depot, Clinton. late Sun-
day evening July 20th to greet the
first of 'the Britishers to occupy the
new Radio school. When the C.N.R.
train composed of five colonist cars
and •sleepers, with flat cars carryinf
equipment for the 250 more or less
officers and men pulled into the Clin-
ton station they received a good
Welcome. The officers and men had
embarked at an Eastern. Canadian
;port after an ocean voyage of 11
,days.
DOCTOR IS HONORED
Clinton—Dr, J. W. Shaw was the
other evening honored by the citiz-
'ens' of ' Clinton and vicinity on hav-
ing •attained. 50 years of practice in
the community and also on attaining

Goderich — After seven days of
evidence and counsel argument, spa-
ced over 15 months, the county
court lawsuit of William Alexander
and Thomas Stewart, farmers, vers-
us the Township of Hay, Was cert-
"luded Thursday, Judge J. L. Kiper;
an reserved judgment. Sunning up
of counsel Frani.: Donnelly and E.G.'
Thompson on Wednesday and Thurs'-
',-y alone consumed over 10 hours.
The dispute is over a strain for which
plans were prepared but which was
never built. Alexander is seeking '$?7
for 'taxes he paid and wined werO
assessed against his land as his share
of the engineering costs. He also
asks $12.5 damages. Stewart is ;cla-
iming $76. Alexander alleges that hr
was forced to pay as a result of il•
legal and improper distress. Stewart

PICNIC AT GODERICH
