Moved to Exeter
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Keys, of
Stephen Township, have moved to
Exeter into the residence they re-
cently purchased from Miss Taylor
William St. Miss Taylor held an auc-
tion sale of her effects and went to
Windsor.
School For Enumerators
C. V. Pickard, census commission-
er for Huron -Perth, held a, school of
instruction in Hensall Town Hall on
Friday and Saturday last. Those who
attended were the prospective enum-
erators for the townships of Hay and
Stanley and the villages of Hensall
and Bayfield.
New Partner
Mr. Keith Westlake, of the Bron-
son Line, Stanley Township, and who
has had four years' experieece with
one of the leading undertakers of the
city of St. Catharines, has been taken
in as partner in the local 'Hoffman
undertaking establishment of Zurich.
We wish this new business firm
known as Hoffman & Westlake, every
success in their effort to serve the
public when in need.
Exchange Cancelled
At the annual Conference of the
Evangelical church at Tavistock, a
few weeks ago, it was decided by
the stationing board to exchange the
following pastors, Rev. A. E. Pletch
of Crediton and Rev. A. Clemens, of
Milverton. Unfortunately, Mrs. A.
Clemen's health is not so good and
the Conference executive board has
cancelled the exchange for the pres-
ent Conference year.

St. Thomas—Preanier Hepburn was
standing 50 yards away from the
spot where a lightning bolt struck on
his farm last week, severely shocking
his superintendent, Win. Tapsell, and
killing a sow and 10 pigs. The pre-
mier was unhurt and he ran to where
Tapsell had :fallen. No medical assis-
tance was required, but the farm sup-
erintendent was still suffering from
the effects of the shock the follow-
ing day. The bolt struck a colony
house just as Tapsel was running
past, He and the premier were eng-
aged in 'rounding up a nunvber of
horses on ,the farm at the time of
the brief but violent thunderstorm.

SWIMMING SEASON OPEN
Goderich—with midsummer wea-
ther prevailing on May 21st and the
bathing season was formally opened •
in Lake Huron, The Misses Avis War
rener and June Buechler were the ,
first in, but they were soon followed
by ethers. Several airmen from the
Old Country were among the early
arrivals and took their first fresh
water 'plunge. The opening is an ex-
ceptrionall early one.
