W. Schaefer, Goderich, secretary of
the county organization. Quite a
number of canvassers have not :wade
their full returns and it is ec„pected
that the county will go well over
the allocation when the final count
is made in a few days. Wingham was
the only final returns to %be given out
—$1950, or $950 over its objective.
READY FOR FLOOR
The trestle work for Exeter's new
briege is now completed. A network
of steel bars for reinforcement has
been placed in .position. The contrac-
tors are ready to pour the cement
flooring which will be poured in three
sections and when started will take
about four days. The Wainwright
Construction Co., of London,
have the contract, have erected an
apparatus for washing and grading
the gravel. They wil use the gravel
from Skinner's pit. in, Usbarne Tp.
GOLFERS CATCH FISH
As golfers, some or the Exeter
;ports are good fishermen. Taking ad-
vantage of the excellen weather on

the Oakwood Golf at Grand Bend. At

George Stewart, 81, a resident of
Goderich for 50 years and widely
kinown as a florist throughout Ontn-
ario, died on May 1. Born at igen
miller, son of John and Mrs. 3te1.-
art, early settler from Scotland, h"_
engaged in the florist business in
Buffalo and other places before build
ing his own greenhouses on Brucc
street •Goderich. He was one of a
family of 10, four or whom have
died in the last three years. He wa:,
a ?'resbyterian formerly a member of
KnoxPresbyterian church a staunch
Liberal and a leader of the Citizens'
Band. He *as twice married.
