by the Hensel' Chamber of Comm-
erce after• making hits here and in
the district, will appear before sol-
diers at Queen's Park, London, . on

Robert Hogarth Dies
Robert Hogarth, prominent distr-
ict farmer, died suddenly .at his'.
home, Hibbert Twp. in his 55th yr,
Death due to heart failure. Surviving
are his widow . a son and father,
Robert Hogarth of Stratford, coun-
ty treasurer for Perth. Funeral was
I held on Monday.

the RCAF training camp at Prince

Dies at Goderich
On March 12th there passed away
in ‘Goderich Marilyn Jean, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Volrand, 2
months and 15 days of age. She was
taken seriously ill three weeks ago
and rushed to Alexandra hospital,
where everything was done to save
her life, but all in vain, as she pas-
sed away. The funeral was held_ on
Wednesday last, Rev. D. J. Lane,
minister of Knox Presbyterian church
conducting the service. interment in
Maitland cemetery.
Cost Seven Lives
Two 'planes from Port Albert
Navigation School collided while
flying near the village of Bond Head,
about 40 miles nor these; t of Toronto '
and as a result seven men were kill -
,ed and two 'seriously injured_ imm-
ediately after the collision one plane
said to be a bomber, and carrying a
crew of five men, exploded and all
fiv men were killed. The other plane
had a crew of four of whom two
were killed. The two injured inen
were taken to Barrie hospital.
Took Two Days
Rev, W. A. Bremner of Seaforth,
retired United Church minister, who
has been supplying at Ripley for the
past few weeks, arrived hone on
Wdnesday afternoon after an event-
ful trip from 'Ripley. He left Ripley
on Monday afternoon and the 40 -
odd mile journey required 48 hours
owing to 'the :storm, The train became
stalled in a drift and an auxiliary
train was sent to the rescue. The
train finally got started, only to have
the mail coach leave the rails, caus-
ing further delay." Eleven passenger's
were on the train. A farm house was
close ,by 'and plenty of suplies were l •
available. By Tuesday night they had
got te' Lucknow and spent the night'
