Farmers are about through with
the spring seeding and the cold wea-
ther the past few days has greatly
hampered the growth.
Miss Bernice Thiel of Hillsgreen,
visited at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Thiel on Sun-
day.
MiSs. IVIelverna Geiger, who has
beenn visiting with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Josith Geiger, the past we-
ek, has returned to her position at
Niagara Falls,
Mr. Harold Sta le left for Strat-
ford this week whore he has secured
a good position. ifs]will be on the
Stratford Senio-; O.B.A. Baseball
team of that city .
Miss Patricia O'Dwyer has return-
ed to her studies at Loretta convent.
Stratford, after spending the holi-
days at the home of her parents, Dr.
and Mrs. P. J. O'Dwyer.
We join the many friends in ex-
tending congratulations. to Miss Mar-
garet -' Schilbe, daughter of M.r. and
Mrs. 'Henry Schilbe, 14th con., who
won the lucky ticket for the woolen
blanket which was donated by S. S.
No. 12, of which Mrs. Delbert Geiger
is teacher.
Miss Alpha Meyers has returned
home from London, after spending a
fef days with her sister Doris, who
is at present at St. Joseph's Hospital
recruperating after an appendix op-
peration, and is getting along real
well.

on Saturday, April 12th, at 10.30
am. at the Lutheran parsonage, Zur-
ich, -When Rev. E. Turkheim officiat-
ed for the marriage of Frances An-
nie eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
E. '.G. Noakes of Hensel', and Leaton
Siemun, of Kitchener, youngest son
of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Simon, of
Zaiiih. The lovely young bride wore
a smart navy blue ensemble and
matching acCOSF..ories. She carried a
bouquet of Madam , Butterfly roses.
The attendants were Mr. and ;Nis's.
Lawrence Bedard, of Zurich, Mrs.
Bedard wearing a clover rose dress,
coat and hat and carrying a bouquet
of American Beauty roses. The wed-
ding dinner was served at the 'home
of the bride's parents in Hensel' to
the immediate relatives. The borne
decorations 'were in pink and white
streamers and spring flowers, while
the bridal table was attractive center-
ed with the wedding cake and bowls
of pink and white tulips. Mr, and
-Mrs. Noakes, who both hold splendid
Positions in Kitchener, will take 110

Tuesday evening April 29th, at 8.00

OBITUARY
This Week we cronicle the, sad news
of one of Zurich's citizens., Mr. Ed-
ward .Miller, who passed away at the
home of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jos-
iah Sararas, Blue Water Highway,
on Friday, April 18th ill his 63.rd
year. Since the departure of his
mother, some years- ago, Mr. Miller
has •lived alone in his residence at
the west end of town. Ile was al-
ways of a nice and cheerful. dispos-
ition, a great reader and deep think-
er and was very interesting to con-
verse with when talking about sub-
jects he most intensely interested.
A very industrious and hard' working
man, working mostly at the Kalb-
fieisch mills. Tie was ill about three
months, and during the last suffered
considerably. Born on the. 14th con.
Hay Twp., he spent most of his life
in the 'community. Surviving. are a
sister, `Mrs. Josiah Saras. 1 -lay; three
brothers', Ezra' Millar of Naperville,
ill; Daniel at Los Angeles, Calif;
Conrad of Dowaing, Wis. The fun-
eral " was held on Sunday afternoon
