Parsons of Goderich and Carl Manore of Sarnia, president and sec- retary respectively of the Bine Water highway Association made a taus of the confer with representative men at the°various centres along the route On their trip Mr. Parsons said, he and Mr. Manore had found men at work on the 22 -mile strip unpaved high- way between Forest and Grand Bend Ten thousand tons of course crushed rock will first be put on this stretch to be followed by 20,000 tons of mulch, which will make a fine pave- ment. This work will not necessitate inconvenience to .traffic, since moto- rists can drive over the mulch as soon as it is laid. The stretch from Grand Bend to Bayfield is unready paved. Between Bayfield to Goderich the work of surveying the highway has been completed. Men ..re at work on the ten mile strip of high --.'ay be- tween ,Goderich and Port klber t.From Port Albert to Kincardine the road will be surveyed. North of Kincard- ine it is paved. DIES AT GODERICH .lames Connolly, 83, prominent Huron County resident and one of the foremost figures in agricultural affairs of the district for a half cc:1- tury, died suddenly at his home, God erich, on Saturday from a heart at- tack. The seizure came as he was closing the doors of his garage at hic residence. He had never been ill a day in his life and had been in excel- lent health on the day of the attack. Had driven his car daily until the ,past few months. A native of God- erich Twp., he was a son of pionee'- residents and farmed in that township until 33 years ago when he moved to Goderich.
