HAY COUNCIL
The regular monthly meeting of
the (Council of the Township of Hay
was held in the Town Hai:, Zurich,
on Monday, March 10th 1941, with
an members present except Mr. Fred
J. B.a.berer. The minutes of the meet-
ing held Feb. 10th were auopted as

read.
After disposing of the communi-
cations and hearing a number of
delegations the following resolutions
were passed:
That the patrolmen for the vari-
ous Township Road Divisions be the
same as in 1940.
That Clerk advertise far tenders
for operating Township crusher and
for trucking gravel onto township
roads for 1941. Tenders to ne in
the hands of the Council by noon on
April 14th. Same conditions as in
19411
That the application of the Board
of Trustees, Police Village of Zurich
be approved by the Council for the
purchase of a fire truck and appli-
ances for fire protection at a cost not
exceeding $2600, and Reeve and Tre-
asurer be authorized to sign a note
for the funds, same to be repayable
by the Police Village of 'Lumen with-
in a period of ten years.
That accounts covering payments
on Township Roads, Hay Telephone
Relief and general accounts be pass-
ed as per vouchers:

their parents at Clinton.
Mr. J. W. Morley, barrister, of
Exeter was a business visitor in town
one day last week.

Mr. Albert Din ,in of Toronto. who
is with the RAF was a guest at the
hone of his brother, Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Dinnin, Friday and Saturday
of last eek.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schade and
family and Mrs. Wm. 'Schade of the
Blito Water Highway, have moved
unto new home on the 14th -con.

.PliVehiskr Estate. The neighbors of
the 14th con. are welcoming their
new residents.
Class Re -organize
The Men's Adult Bible Class of
the Evangelical church held their an-
nual election of officers on Sunday,
with the following result: President
Edgar Wuerth, vice-pres., Gid. Koeh-
ler, Secy-treas. Roland Geiger. Mr.
William O'Brien who has been the
president of this class since its or-
ganization some thirty years ago was
relieved of the office upon his request
having vigen faithful and devoted
service all these years, he feels he has
had his time. Mr. W. H. Edighoffer
the teacher of the class and C. L.
Smith, assistant
OBITUARY
Late Henry F. Wese:o'i
Mr. Henry F. Weseloh of Zurich,
passed to his eternal rest, on Friday
March 7th, 1941, at the age of 75
years, 1 month and 23 days, atter a
lingering illness. The deceased came
Lo Zurich with his parents at the
age of three years and his entire life
was spent in this community, where
he was, in the building trade for
many years; many a bilding that
now is standing in these !mitt, ivei(
erected by 'the sweat of Mr. Weseloh's
brow as he was a hard working and
industrous man.. He was married to
Gertrude Koch at the Zurich Luth-
eran parsonage by Rev. Stremfer on
April 9, 1889. In April of 1939 Mr
end Mrs. Weseloh celebrated their
4o1;len wedding anniversary which
was attended by all members of thein
family. Surviving are his sorrowing
wife and six chnldren (Olieva) Mrs.

Mrs. Wyri J. Schroeder of Dashwood:
((ertrude) Mrs. T. Gettus of Adrian
Mich: (Frederick Weseloh) of Tec-

thur Meininger of Detroit. There are
also 17. grand children and three
was held at the family residence at
great gland *Wren. The funeral
2 o'clock on Monday March lOth
followed :by services at St. Peter's
Lutheran church with Rev. E. Turk -
him officiating. Burial followed in
St, Peter's Lutheran cemetery. A-
mong ,the out of town relatives at-
tending the last rites were: Mrs. Jno
Weseloh and daughter Mrs. C Baetz
of Kitchener; Mr. and WTI's. Ted Wes-
vloh of Waterloo, Miss Elizabeth Wes
eloh of New York city, Mrs. A. C.
