dercock's nursing home for treat -

The World's Day of Prayer service
is being held in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Friday, February 28th at
3 p.m. when the WMS of the .local
churches will take part.
Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Kirk of Fair -

Reid City, Mich; visited for a week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Drys-

A broken rail is attrbuted" as the
cause of the derailment of five freight
ca:rs,;four carrying grain and one flour
a short distance east of Auburn on
the •Guelph-Goderich Branch of the
CPR. The locomotive, tender and .a
freight car had .passed safety over;

over on their sides. None of the

Mr. Harry W. Horton, town coun-
cillor, has been advised by cable of
the death of his brother, William,who
died in a hospital in London, Eng-
land, where he had been a patient for
some time with a cerious illness. A
veteran of the last Great War, he
was in his 49th year.
Home Bombed
Wm. Snow of Hay Townshep, has
received word that the home of his
sister,»Mrs. Mae Wilson, of London
Eng., was bombed and burned to the
ground. Fortunately members of.the
household, including five -children
were away visiting .at the time and
escaped, but five inmates of the
house next noor were instantly killed
Fractures Wrist
The many friends of Mrs. Frank
Farquhar, well-known Hes-mallresi-
dentt, regret to learn that she had the
misfortune to fall on the snow-cover-
ed ice. She was taken to ,Cfintan hos-
pital for X-ray revealed a fractured
wrist. •
Post Nuptial Shower

A very enjoyable evening was
spent when Miss Edna. Saundercock
entertained at miscellaneous shower
in honor of Mrs. Louis Weigand (nee
Miss Nellie Fee) when games and
contests were enjoyed. TI'ne• bride
was escorted to a decorated chair and
presented with a decorated basket

Mrs Isaac Moore Dies

resident of Egmondville died at the, •
]tome of her son, David in Toronto, i
