Late George Buchanan
Word was received here of the de-
parture of Mr. George Bucha.nen, a
Zurich old boy and son of the late
Dr. and Mrs. Buchanan former wei
known residents of Zurien. Mr
Buchanan, was for .many years a
banister at Sudbury and some .few
years ago caned on Zurich friends
His remains were laid to rest in Sud-
bury on Sunday, deceased had rea-
ched the age of 68 years. Surviving
besides his own family are two ,bro-

night, Iles. Joseph Gibson, 54 , St.
David's street, Godeeich died fast

the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Dabus
of the Babylon line. Her husbane
died one year ago. Surviving are
three sons, James, with the R.C.A.F,
Harold and Marlin, at home. A dau-
ghter resides at Dungannon; Two
brothers, John of Vaneouver and
William at Hensall; one sister, Mrs.
Charles Weber of Zurich.

LEAGUE IS FORMED
A meeting of the Cyclone Hockey
League was held in Exeter the ofeer
night at the arena. Mervin Tiernan.
Dashwood, was elected president and
Elgin Merner of Dashwood, was el-
ected secy-treasurer. Lucan, Cred-
iton, Dashwood, Hensall and Exeter
have entered teams. A representative
from each team was appointed to the
executive. Lucan and Crediton games
will be played at the Exeter arena. It
was decided to adopt the same rules
as last year and a schedule was
drawn up for January and February.

The newly elected Council of the.
Township of Stephen met in the town
hall, Crediton on Jan. 13, at 11 a.m.

After each member of the Council
had subscribed to his declaration of
office, the minutes of the last regular
meeting held the 16th Dec. and the
