A Dangerous Practice

and street cars have no doors on the
left-hand side which permit the driv-
er or occupants to alight from: the
vehicle to the street instead of at the
curb side? And have you ever not-
iced that many car drivers get out of
their care on the left side or street

evenings, and we sure will miss it

Kitchener spent Christmas at the
home of the lattees sisters, the Misses
Johnson.

ers have been plowing lately. The

rated their 25th wedding anniversary

A Prolific Cow
Mr. Anson Coleman of the Parr
line, Stanley Township has a very.

to four calves during the calander
year 11940, having had twice twins
within the twelve months. The cow
is of Herford breed.
EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY
A delicious chicken dinner was ser-
ved at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John
Hartman, Jarvis st., on Thursday ev-
ening, when their children and grand
children gather at the home to cele-
brate i14r. Hartman's 80th birthday.
Those present included Miss Agnes
Hartman of Wallacburg, Mr. and Mrs
Edwin Hartman, Goderich; Mr. and
Mrs. Kuno Hartman and familt, Mr.
and M?;s. Philip Hartman and family
from Zurich; Mr. and Mrs. John A.
Hartman and family from Varna,and
Mm. F. Ducharme and Mr. William

OBITUARY
YOUNG MAN PASSES
A shadow of gloom was cast over
the community on Dec. 16th, on
hearing of the death of Percy Gould,
aged 24 years, 6 months and 17 days
eldest son of Mr. and Mr.;. Wm.
Gould of Hay Township where de-
ceased was born, but had not enjoy-
ed good health for some time, having
been ill for three months. Was of a
very quiet disposition. ,Besides, his
sorrowing parents he is survived by
two brothers, Allen and Beverley_ A
private funeral service was conduct-
ed by Rev. N. J. Woods. Interment
was made in Exeter cemetery.
Late Mrs. Chas. Keller
Mrs. Charles Keller, a resident of
Dashwood for the past 12 years, died
on Sunday. She was a member of the
Lutheran church at Dashwood, and
was in her 68th year. Her maiden
name was Louise Mueller, and she
was born on the 14th concession,Hay ,
Township. She is survived by her
husband, two daughters, Erma and
Loretta at home; seven sons, Adolph
and Edward of Hay Township; Arn-
old and Elmer, of the 116th concess-
ion, Stephen Township; Her tert and
Harold of Exeter; Reinhard of Moor-
esville ;- two sisters, Mrs. Lours Rader
of Dashwood and Mrs. Jacob Willert
of the 14th concession, Stephen Twp;
two brothers, Gustave Mueller, of
14th concession, Hay TownsTilp and
Nicholas Mueller of Windthorst, Sas.
Funeral services were held on Wed-
nesday at 2 p.m. followed by services
in the Lutheran Church, with Rev. T..
Luft the pastor, officiating. Interment
followed in the Lutheran cemetery,
Bronson .line.
