have moved into the dwelling house
on the farm of Johnston & Kalb-
ileisch of the Blind Line, Ray. Mr.
McAdams has recently taken a posit-

Imperial Oil Co., demonstrated in
the local town hall on Tuesday eve-
ning a mo:-ing icture show of the
improved roads that have been laid
down in Huron County with the

Ideal weather and perfect soil con-
ditions resulted in a record crowd for
the South Huron ,plowing match on
Thursday on the farm of Robert
Munn, two miles southwest of Hen-
sa11. More than 1,000 persons attend-
ed during the day and watched 32
contestants compete in several classes
Fonhe first time in the history of
the Association tractor entries out -
nu n,bered the horse-drawn plows. Al-.
lan-=Turnbull, age 15,• of Dashwood,
won the special event for plowing by
plowmen under 16 years. In the nov-
elty class for non -farmers the win-
ners were J. W. Ortweim, Hensall,
age 91 years; John 'Rowe, Exeter,
and John McEwen, B,rucefieict, both
over 80 years. The executive were:
Pres. Wm. Quinn; Secy Percy Pass-
more and Treasurer Archie Morgan.
The tractor class 7 was Fergus Turn-
bull. Dashwood; F. Wildfong Exeter;
0. Reichert, Hensall; Russell Broder-
ick, Hensall.
The rather small white brick resi-
dence opposite the R.' C. Church and
owned by the Joseph Foster Sr. Est-
ate, las been purchased by Mr. and
Mrs. Alex Etue o -f the Blue Water
Highway who get possession on No-
vember 15th. Thf. property has for
the past years been leased by Mr.
Cyrus Schoch who will have to va-
cate and living quarters in Zurich
at present are at a premium.
Mr: and Mrs. Elmore Thiel are
having an auction sale of their farm
stock and implements on the farm
they have resided for some years,
half way betweee Hensall and Zurich
The date of the sale being next Tu-
esday, November 5th, Mr. and
Mrs. Thiel will move to Zurich hav-
ing bought the residence of the Helen
Sreenan Estate on Louise street.
DEER SEASON TO OPEN
Provincial police have been notifi-
ed that an open season for deer will
be held in five townships of Bruce
county from Novembiar. 11 to 16, in-
clusive. Use of dogs is forbidden.The
townships are Amabe.l, Albemarle,
Eastnor, Lindsay, and St. Edmonds.

Joseph 'Baker, 29 of Grand Bend,
was instantly killed at 6.45 o'clock
on Saturday evening a mile east of
Brewster on No. 81 Highway, when
he and two companions' were attach-
ing a .chain from a cuttnig box to
'•tis cal and another car struck the
cutting box which was standing at
the enge of .the road. Three others
were injured. The car that struck the
cutting box was driven by Ray Pat-
terson, Grand Bend and in it with
him was his bride of a few hours.
Tliey were returning home after a
trip to London to have wedding pic-
tures taken. The bride and groom
were both cut about the face. Geo.
Latta, a companion of Baker, recei-
ved minor injuries and a third man
working on the cutting box, Cecil-
Pickering, also of Grand Bend, jum-
ped clear and was unhurt.. Coroner.
Dr. P. J. O'Dwyer of Zurich, order-
ed an injuest when traffic po;i.ce laid
no charge immediately and the prelim
:nary was heard the same night.

infant daughter, also his parents,
one sister, Mrs. Floyd Palmer, Grand
Bend, and a stepsister, Mrs. R. Brown
Greenway. The body was removed t^
the Hoffman Funeral Horne, ,Dash-
wood. 'There was a public funera'
service on Tuesday afternoon with
interment in Grand Bend cemetery
and a memorial service in the Gram'

pel of Dashwood assisting Rev. 4Lr

very largely attended.
Hensall baseball team won the
0.B.A. Intermediate championship at
Waterloo on Saturday afternoon
when they beat Toronto Columbus
Grads 12-9 in the third game of the
finals. Grads won the opened at Tor-
onto 8-4 but Hensall won the return
-ame Wednesday 16-0. The game
lid show a good class of ball as er-
rors were numerous and well divided
the eight Toronto fumbles were by
far the more costly, Hensall had only
three earned suns while Grads had
eight. While Bush went the route
for Toronto, Carter Kerlslake,• start-
ing Hensa)l pegger, was replaced by
Maurice Tudor in the sixth. Tudor
granted only two hits in the last 3
