Aircraftsman Lawrence Johns, formerly of Bayfield, is a me- mber of the 242nd Canadian Fighter Squadron R.A.F. which is given c.ed- it for bringing down more than 100 German planes in the war. •Squadron Leader Fowler Gobeil, of Ottawa, commander of the squadron, in an interview at Olttawa, described this Canadian Fighter' Squadron as "ab- solutely supexib." The Provincial Road commission is digging up the tile drains along the east and west portion of the road as the tile drains have become broken down at places. Mrs. O. Never- theless there are over 12,000 blind persons' in Canada who are confront- ed .with the ordinary problems of ev- eryday life without the use of their sight. However, in the last twenty years ways and means have been found of educating and training them of providing them with remunerative employ/bent, of releving them from the dread of monotony, fear end idle- ness.
