MET IN CALGARY
Two hundred editors of the Cana-
dian Weekly Newspapers Association,
representing; nenwspapees from New-
foundland, to Vancouver Island, op-
ened the oxganization's two-day an-
nual convention at - Calgary last
Thursday. The editors gathered to
celeibrate their organization's "com-
ing of age"—it is the 21st annual con
vention—and the 500th anniversary
of the invention of- printing. Early
discussions of the convention center-
ed around the war and work which
editors can do in bolstering and en-
couraging the Canadian veer aeffort,

Leroy Arthur Rader
Meets With Accident
The community was shocked beyond
words on -Sunday when it learned of
the passing of Leroy Arthur Rader,
only child of Mr. and Mrse Milne

icles and its lead at one weigh. The
case was dismissed.

1 ownship, following th.e accident of
the day previous when the little lad,
who had reached the age of nine
years and eighteen days, was, coming
out of the lane of Pioyd Wein on
his bicycle and not noticing the on-
coming auto of Mx. Elmer Klopp of
:61e1Sch. The accident happened so
suddenly that neither the young lad
nor Mr.. Klopp could make ally effort
to avoid the same. Leroy, noemmgly
was struck by ,the left front fender
f the car and struck the windshield
with such force that his head was
injured to the extent that he never
regained censciousnets. Dr. A. J. Ad-
dison, of Zurich was •immediately cal-
led and had the injured boy taken to
London hospital, where everything
that medical skill could be done was
administered, but the impact was
too severe and life passed on into the
better world. Leioy was a very bright
cheerful and lovable little feinive with
lots of life and cheerfulness and he
will be missed by his parents, grand-
parents and aunt most of ail. The
large tributes of flowers bespoke of
the high esteem the family is being
held in. Hundeeds of irlertus visited
the. remainsat the parents' home on
Tuesday and Wednesday, the latter
being the day when the funeral was
held with :services at the home in --
