OBITUARY.
The funeral of •William Lamont,
who died at a London Hospital last
Wednesday, was held on • Saturday
afternoon and many relatives and
tfr•iencls of the family attended. Ser-
vices Were held at the house and were
•eorducted by Rev. C. 13. Heckendorn,,
-pastor of the Focal Evangelical church
assisted by Rev. J. R. Peters, of
Varna, paetor of the United Church.
The pall -bearers were: Mest:rs. Win.
C onsitt, F. C. 1%albfleisch, Charles
Fritz, H. K. Either, C. Williams and
W. J. Dowson. Interment took plaice
at Bayfield cemetery. Relatives from
'a distance who ettended the funeral
were: Mr. and Mrs.. W. F. Braun and
family, Forest; Mics Marcella Esher,
Minneapolis, Minn; Mr. and Mrs. A.
J. Patterson, Detroit, Mic.lt,; Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Campbell and Mrs.. Cameron

The late Mr, Lamont had been a
life long resident of this community
and was in his 84th year.: ile was
born on the farm in Stanley Town-
ship now occupied by his son, Roy,•
wrere he lived until' 25 years ago
when: he moved to Zurich. He took
an active interest in municipal and
polatical affairs and held many im-
porta nt offices at various times in-
eludrn'g 'township - Councillor and a
member of Huron County Council..
For many years he was a director oft
The Hay Tovaishap Farmer's Etre In-
surance Co., and later acted as gen-
eral agent of ,that eornpau.y, retain
from 't1'at position about two years
ago. He was widely known in the
county and .had a host of friends.
His wife, formerly Agnes McI<'inIey,
died 28 years ago. Surviving are one
sou, Roy, of ,Stanley and three daugh-
ters, MVlatgaret, Mrs. W. F. .Braun,
Forestl tMayni.e, Mrs. L. W. Hoffman
and Jane, 'Zurich; Also a brother,
Allan, of Bauli?, Alta;and three sis-
ters, Mrs. AlAgc. McConnell of Vane.
and MTarue Iilarcella and Elizabeth,
