of Defence surveyors on snowshoes
are staking out and gathering topo-
graphical data on prospective Empire

recently..The surveyors, men loaned
to the Dept. of Defence by the Ont.
Dept. of Highways, took to the snow
shoes like ducks to water, and so the
survey work goes on as usual, It is
thought that the good old County of
Huron is going to laird an Empire
air training field. Lt's the tack of the
county, people of which have for sev
eral years been decidedly air minded
and the young men, descendants of
settlers brought from Britain by the
Canada Company, a, century and
tuore ago., are anxious to get flying.
