KILLED AT LUCAN
A sad accident took place on Tues-
day afternoon at the railway crossing
in Lucan when Mr. Geo. Welch 88 -
year -old truck driver of Rodney was
me. thbound with a heavy load of

load it plunged into the side of the

When Welch saw his perdicament he
jumped out of the truck cab only to
have several logs thrown on top of
him. One foot was severe, and he
was instantly killed. The truck as
well as the engine of the railway suf-
fered damages, and the logs were
scattered around. The wig -wag was
going at the time the accident oc-
curred. Welch is the father of four
children and it is a sad accident.
