Nomination for municipal offices
are quite early this year as on Dec.
22nd is the date set for nominations
for the municipalities who did not
hold them earlier. The law requires
that when Christmas day falls on a
Monday, the regular nomination day,

meeting of council is only a week
previous, it will keep treasurers and
printers hustling to get out the us-
ual financial statements for the mun-
icipalities for nomination day.

Goderich Dec. 6—Concluding a
two-day trial a county court jury
tonight returned a verdict finding
that Wrn. Addison, prominent Mullett
Twp farmer, had on occasions during
the past two years slandered his
neighbor and lifelong friend, James
Medd, by referring to him as a "cat-
tle thief" and "robber." The jury
verdict -awarded Medd $100 of the
$500 damages he asked. The costs of
the case were assessed against Ad-
