Fine weather has prevailed the
past week, exceptionally nice for this
time of year and many farmers are
taking advantage of the same by do-;

has been practically no snow on the
ground this fall, some frosts at night.
but it always thaws out during the

OBITUARY
DIES AT KITCHENER
Word was received here last week
of the passing of John Siemon on
Wednesday, aged 66 years, after a

compare to them. Little do we ap-
preciate the good that milk does until
there is a shortage. From the farm to
your doorstep the journey of milk is
ea royal procession. I pay my highest
tribute, however, 'Co the fernier who
feeds and cares for his cows, milks
them, and sends this royal milk to
the ends of the land -yes, even to the
ends of the earth. There is no drink
on this globe so healthful. Out in Hol-
lywood, Cal., I am told, that one dir-
ector orders 1,000 gallons of m'Ik and
1200 gallons of cream every week --
just for those who work in his studio
I would say that he is a wise director

In milk there is to .be found the
best protein known to nature. It is

ther, August in Michigan. The runer- the cheapest! It is said that each of

each day. Young children should have
a full quart a day. The greatest of
physicians state that milk is the one
essential food of the greatest value.
It leads all other commodities in hu-
man consumption. A favorite night
club .in New York City serves milk
instead of intoxicating drinks because
so many young people gather there.
This is a fine sign of the times. Other
