The half -holiday season with this
week is ended for this season. How
the time does go. Only a few weeks
age it seems since we announced
the half holidays, and now e. iew
months have pssed, the summer has
ended and the harvest is past.
Far ,mers are busily engaged in cut-
ting their crop of ibudkwheat Which is
looking splendid. The ground is
.ti'l eelite .dry for fal plowing epee -
jelly on the heavy land, as consider-
able more rain is required. Fair wheat
;8 looking splendid and making a
reost satisfactory growth.
A Fine Display
Judge Archie Haas, who had charge
of judging the horses on Tuesday at
the local fair, advised that this year
was the best showing of herses he
as ever seen .in Zurich, and probably,
;being a great lover of horses, that is
the reason the judging lasted till af-
ter six o'clock, when there was prac-
tically only a hand ful of people left.
The two tandem teams marvelously
circling around the show ring rider
the close of the judging period was
a masterpiece of horse training and
a sight beautiful to behold. The two
exhibiters, Monroe and Miller are to
be congratulated, and the regretable
pact of it is that so few of the ef-
ternoon spectators were present to
See the finest act ever pulled off pro-.
bably on this ring. Some derent.
arrangements should be made another
year not to prolong the horse judging
on late in the evening.
