Presentation
A very enjoyable event took place
last Thursday eve ling, September 7,
when the neighbors gathered at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thiel,
bridal couple, to present them with a
miscellaneous shower. The address
was read by Mrs. Gideon Koehler, af-
ter which all joined by singing "For
they will be jolly good neignbors"
followed by numerous other commun-
ity singing. Mrs. Thiel gave a very
hearty reply by thanking all for their
kindness. The rest of the evening
being spent by a contest and social
chats. A delicious lunch was enjoy-
- d, all returning to their homes with
a feeling of having had a real good

Approximately 80• .farmers attend-
ed the field meeting held at the
farm of Mr. D. F.Coughlin, Mount
Carmel, far the purpose of acquaint-
ing the farmers of the district with
the important features of the new
hybrid field corn note being intro-
duced into Ontario for the first time,
James Shearer, Agricultural Repres-
entative; W. H. Golding M.P., and
Dr. O. McConkey, of the 0.A.C. in
Guelph were among the speakers.
