All schools opened on Tuesday,
morning, and the sound of the local
school bell was quite noticeable with
its appealing rythm. The local teach-
ing staff consist of three teachers:
Mr. Victor Denin Principal; Miss
Olive O'Brien taking charge of her
former room, No. 2, and Miss Nora
Balkwill of London, will take charge
of the First room. Miss Balkwill,
who is the only new teacher on the
•staff, will also teach the new course,
Horne Economics, which will be tau-
ght here in due time.
Farmers are busy these days. !tak-
ing the balance of the bean crop and
also preparing the land for seeding
of fal wheat. Owing to the outbreak
of the European ,war, the prices of
wheat are steadily advancing.
Hay Council met on Monday even-
ing for their regular meeting for the
month of September.
