Herman Beaver, of Stephen town-
ship at the age of 57 years.
After a prolonged illness, Mrs. Em-
ma Hill Chapman, wife of the late
Herbert T. Chapman, died tui: the
Seaforth hospital at the ages of 46
years. Her husband was killed at a
the Somme in 1916. She is suevfved

New Machines at Flax Mill
J. G. Anderson & Son have this
year placed in' operation in theirffax
pill at Seaforth three machines, in-
:huding a flax puller, 'flax threslier•and
flax scratcher. The machines are the
first of their kind to be used in Can-
ada and were imported directly from
'3elgi�um. Some 35 men are employed
by the firm. 20 at work in the fields
and the balance in the mill. Some
350 acres. were planted in flax this
year.
