Frits,. Miss Leonia Fisher of Dashwood, spent a few days lasteweek with her sister, Miss Thelma Fisher. Mr. Charles Hay who is attending Clinton Collegiate', was a .wcelcee:i:l visitor at his home here. Pleased to see Mr. William S. PLANE CRASHES Lost from his course, :.Bing in darkness and fog, and it is • thought out of g•asolinc, Second Lieut. N. A. Cowles, of the United States Army Air Copse Reserve, crashes, on a farm near !Parlchill on Saturday eve- ning and was instantly killed. As the $40,000 ship plummeted to earth o1 the fe,:m of John Young, it crashed into a stable, demolishing the build- ing, killed two horses, a cow. a num- ber of chickens and injure: a third horse and literally flew to bi"-s. Young had left the building only a short time before, doing his evening ,ehor- ns. The body of .the 23 -year old; pilot was found in his parachut harness about 60 feet from the stable. Jaw bones, arms, ribs and legs were bro- ken and the body lay in a cru>nnbled heap. The entire parts of the; plane engine,. landing gear and instruments were all .smashed to bits, save 'only the $300 silk parachute. HYMENEAL Hendrick—Hail A wedding of wide interest- was soiemluzed at the Evangelical Par- sonage, Crediton at 11 o'clock_ a.m. on Tuesday, March 7th, 1539, when Miss Lyla A. Hoist, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Haist, Crediton, became the bride of Mr. Edmund R. Hendrick, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hendrick of the Blue Water Highway, Hay Township. The 'cere- mony was conducted by the pasor, Rev. A. E. Pletch. The bride made a dainty picture in a gown of white sheer with a veil caught with orange blossoms, silver slippers and access- ories to match. She wore a corsage bouquet of 'carnations. Miss Ruth Hendrick, sister of the groom made a charming bridesmaid in a dress of pale sheer, white slippers and accessories to mach. She also wore a corsage bouquet of carnations The groom was supported by Earl Haist, the brother of the bride. Immediately after the ceremony, a reception dinner for t'1^ immediate e]at:ver was held at the bride's home which was very tastefully dec orated with pink and white stream- ers and the table was centred with the .'ride's cake. White tapers '• •in silver holders were used effectively. Mr. and Mrs. Hendrick left on a trip to Niagara Falls. Buffalo and points enroute. For • travelling the bride wore a blue georgette dress with ac- cessories to match and a grey coat with wolf collar. On their return they will reside on the groom's fine farm •two miles north of Crediton.
