line south, , has been awarded the
position of Patrolman by the Huron
iCounty Highways Department from
Zurich to Sarepta and from Dash-
wood to Mt.Carmel, a stretch of
eleven miles.
OBITUARY
Late John Baker
An aged and respected resident of
the Town Line, Hay, near Hillsgreen
passed away on Tuesday in the per -
Min of Mr. John Baker who had rea-
ched the age of about eight -one yrs.
Mr. Baker had lived practically all
his life in the community, was never
married, and lived alone, seemingly,
he had enjoyed his usual health till
only recently, as he was living alone.
He was during his time quite inter-
ested 'in lighe horses of which he
raised a number of good ones. A
very peaceable neighbor and satisfied
to be:. alone. Surviving are two
brothers and a sister. Mr., William
Baker :of the West, Peter Baker, a
neighbor, and Mrs. Luker near Hen-
sall. The funeral is being held on
Thursday afternoon to St. Peter's
;Lutheran cemetery, Zurich, with the
pastor, Rev. E. Turkheim officiating.

The fuuexal of the late Peter
Ravell.e Who passed on at St. Joseph's
,I .ospital, London, on Monday, Febru-
'ary '20th, took place from the family
residence, Grund Bend on Thursday
afternoon, with internment in the
'G(,rand Bend cemetery. The departed
who was iin his 50th year was ill on-
ly a few days with a heart condition.
After his marriage to Miss Mary
Gasche, daughter of Mu.. and 1V1rs;
oseph Gascho of Zurich, they lived
for some years in Zurich where they
conducted a confectionery business,

Mail route. In the summer of 1930
they 'solid out in Zurich, moving to
Grand Bend where they built up and
established a fine booth and store
business in the busy summer months,
