EVANG. CHURCH NEWS
The Evangelical Church was, the
centre of intense ,activty last week.
On Tuesday night the "I serve"
Sunday School Clsas held its, 'annual
meeting for the election of officers.
The following were elected Presid-
ent, Mrs. Orville Witmer; Vice pros.
Mrs. S. Gingerich; Secretary, Mrs.
Leonard Merner; Asst.. Sec., Miss
Milverna Geiger; Treasurer, Miss
Ruby Church; Committee leaders:
Social, Mrs. L. Erb; Membership,
Miss Beatrice ,Gascho; Service, Miss
Olive Witmer. Mr. E. M. Dagg the
efficient teacher spoke a few words
of ,Appreciation for the fine support
received from. the members of the
Class. A Valentine Social was en-
joyed at the conclusion of the bush•,
ess session. The husbands and fri-
ends were invited guests.
The weekly Prayer and Study Fel-
lowship meeting was the largest at-
tended meeting of the year. A quar-
tette comprising, Miss Pearl Pfile,
Miss Pearl Gabel, Mr. A. Melick and
Mr. J. E. Gascho sang "The Gospel
According to You." Rev C. B. Heck-
endord led the study period on "The
Origin and ,G•rokth of the Bible." This
course will soon come to a close .and
a new study will be started,
The Junior League , of Christian
Endeavour met in the basement of
the church on Friday afternoon for
a Valentine .Social. About twenty-
five children with adult leaders had
a very good time. Competitive gam -
.s and a splendid lunch made the
children very happy. The leaders in.
charge were: Mrs. G. Koehler. Mrs.
L. ,Hoffman, and Mrs. Heckendorn.
More than fifty people met in the
';asement of the church last Friday
eight for a Valentine Social, The
Committee in. charge decorated the

hearts. A series of games created
the spirit of joy and fellowship. The

song was followed by a short talk,

the charges for fiat -rate electric weer
heaters at various points on the
Stratford-Goderich line was suumit-
ted. 'The charges on the basis of 100
watts. per month as follows: Stratford
38e., Mitchell 42c, ,Seaforth 42c, Clint
tan 44c, Goderich 52c. We have been
toad time and time again that two
factors enter into the variation in
prices of power as between different
points; (1) distance of transmrssion;
(2) quantity of power consumed.
Goderich uses more power than any
other point on the line west or Strat-
ford. Yet the variation in price be-
tween Stratford and -Clinton-a -dis-
tance of about 37 miles -is e.., White
between Clinton and Goderich-a
distance of only twelve miles --it is
Sc. This is only one more reason why
Goderich should without any further
delay take action to secure an alter-
native system of power supply. So
long as the .present contract holds the
