Anyway, we think there will be mostly wintry weather from now till the end of the next six weeks. 22 INCHES OF SNOW People who believe the prevent win- ter is more severe than that of' a year ago are not entirely right, • ac- cording to weather summaries for January just issued by the London, Weather Bureau. There was more snow in the month just closed than during Jan. of last year but a year ago it was colder. 22 inches of snow this year with 18 inches a year ago. The average maximum temperature for Jan. 1939 was 30.2 as compared to 27 last year, and the average min` imurn last year 11.7 as compared to 15;4 this Jan. There was one day over 50 this year and three days a=' bove 45, as compared with only ., days at 40 a year ago. Both records show four days .below zero.
