William Davidson Passes
Hensall Council Minutes
The last regular meting of the
Village Council held on the eve. of
Dc. 15th, as per statutes in the Coun-
zit 'Chamber at 8 p.m. with all mem-
bers present except Councillor G. E.
Brock who is ill.
Minutes of the last meeting were
read and adopted. A large delegat-
ion from the Chamber of Commerce
appeard asking for a donation in the
aid of .the Christmas Tree also dis-
cussing the appointment of a full
;Arne employee for Policeman, care-
taker and several other duties, same
to be considererd later.
'Motion, that we grant the 'Ohara-.
ber of Commerce $15 towards the
Christmas Tree.
The Reeve and Clerk reported re
advice secured in Toronto re trees
and tax eeemptions.

William Davidson, a well known
and highly respected farmer of the
Goshen linesouth , Hay Township,
died at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Walter Ames, 123 Colborne st.,
London, following many weeks of ill-
ness, aged 83 years, 11 months and
23 days. Mr. Davidson had went to
visit with his children three months
ago and was taken ill while there.
Born at Oshawa, he has been a res-
ident of this district for 60 years, and
lived on his farm on the Goshen line
fcr the past 35 years. Surviving are
his wife, formerly Miss Annie Geo -
gine French of this district; six sons
and tree daughters: Thomas, Leonard
Vernon, Mrs. Walter Ames, Mrs. Wm
Fenwick, and Mes. Norman Dickie all
of London; Charles in Alberta; Wm.
end Frei at home., one brother, Alex
Davidson f 0.shawa, 11 grandchild-
ren and one great grandchild. The
funeral was held from the home on
the Goshen line on Saturday' after-
noon, to Exeter cemetery for inter-
ment. Rev. E. Turkheim, pastor of
St. Peter's Lutheran Church, at Zur-
ich officiated.
Late Ernest 14. Rader
Ernest H. Rader, a lifelong resident
of the community, died on Friday
at his home on the Goshen line south
after a lehgthy illness. He was in his
63rd year. Mr. Rader is survived by
by his widow; a son Alvin, at home,
and a daughter, Mrs. Oscar Miller of
the Lake Road; his mother, Mrs.
Catherine Rader of Dashwood; three
brothers, Louis and Fred, of Dash-
wood; Theodore of the Goshen line;
a stepbrother William Rader of Zur-
ich; three sisters, Mrs. Susan Haber-
er and Mrs. Clara Decker of Zurich;
Mrs, Louis Kraft, of Dashwood, and
a stepsister, Mrs. Joseph Willert, of
Dashwood. He was a son of the late
Jacob Rader of Dashwood, from a
well known family in the district, a
very fine. and peaceltil, quiet dispos-
ition, a good neighbor and his many
friends will .greatly miss the departed
The funeral was held at the family
home on Sunday, at 2 o'elock, serv-
ices followed in Zion I etheran Ch-
urch in Dashwoorl with Rate T. Luft
