HENSALL STUDENT HURT • Jack Drysdale, of Hensall, student at London Technical School, suffered double fracture of the jaw and Mrs. Wilfred Klopp of Woodstock, had ribs fractured when DrysdaTe's car crashed .broadside into that driven by Mrs. Wm. C. Wagner and son Le- onard motored. to London one day this week on business. Mr. and Mrs, Ezra Bender of Dashwood called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Melick on Sunday. Mrs. Stanley Shamp of East Hav- en, Conn., Mrs. Donald Loeffel of New Haven, Conn; visited with their aunt, Mrs. Peter Koehler the past week.. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bedard of town and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Regier, of the Goshen line south visited the former's son, Richard, who is at- tending the Seminary College at Wo- odstock. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvanus Witmer and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Witmer and daughter Joyce were at London on Sunday where they visited with the former's son. Bayfield Fall fair Bayfield annual fall fair was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 10th and 11th, and with the largest attendance in years. Nine schools led l y the 'Goderich Boy's Band, formed in the park on the .Square and mar- ched to the grounds, where the scho- ols went through their exercises and singing. (E), RICNVR., and was released ,from his position as Base Compass officer in Halifax, to accept the .position of,'Compass Adjuster on the Great- Lakes for the • Ontario Hughes Owens Company, •Ltd., Otta- wa.. He left •Sunday afternoon for Port Colborne where Mrs. MacKin- non will join hint after a short stay in Zurich. .7th VICTORY LOAN The Seventh Victory Loan is now well under way and canvassers are busy getting in the subscriptions. The same canvassers es the last few loans are W. H. Edighoffer and Milton Oesch. The investment is the very best and the money is needed to carry on the war expenditures. We dare not let the Boys over there down. They need the best we can supply them. The new loan is a little lar- ger than the previous one, but there is mare money in ,the banks, and that means larger individual bank accoun- ts. Help -win the war by buying more and more Victory Bonds. FIELD DAY AT ZURICH The fourth annual South Huron field meet was held at the Zurich Fair Grounds last Wednesday after- noon, with a large attendance, as the day was ideal for the occasion. The winner of the draw, which was a pr. of pigs, was W. H. Hotson, of Grand Bend. Other winners were: Sr. 100 yd. 'dah—Boys, Maurice O'Dwyer, Giris, Marjorie Hoffman.
