in the Evangelical church, Zurich ion
Sunday evening, October 15th, - 'at
7.30 p.m, for the late Clare Surerus
who made the supreme sacrifice in
France recently.
No Services Next Sunday
St. Peter's Lutheran Church will
have no church services next Sun-
day, Oct. 15th, but Sunday School
will be hold at 10 a.m, Rev. E.
Heimrich, the pastor is attending the
14th Biennial Convention of the
United Lutheran church in America,
which is being held at Minneapolis,
Minn., October 10th to 17th. A
large number of Canadian crelegates
are attending .this Convention.
WAS LAID TO REST
The remains of the late Caroline
Volland were laid to rest on Thurs-
day o1' last week and was well at
tended. Sho was born in 1852 and
was a member of St. Peter's Luther-
an church, Zurich since its organizat-
ion. She leaves to mourn her loss
her daughter Lizzie who will greatly
miss her, as she was always a good
companion and devoted mother. The
funeral was held privately at the
home followed by a public service in
St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and
Was officiated by the postor, Rev. E.
lieimrich who chose for a text Psalm
4, verse 8. 'I'he pall bearers were:
A. Leibold, W. Leibold, G. Broder-
ick, R. Petzki, Clarence Volland, and
Bruce Volland. • Interment in the St.
Peter's Cemetery.
