here of the sudden passing of Mr.
Samuel E. Faust of Mitchell' and a
former well known businessman of
Zurich. The death occurred' while on
the train going out West to. visit
with their son Carl, who is in- the
armed forces, and it occurred' while
in the Kitchener district. The funeral
is being held on Friday at Mitchell..
HAD FINE RAIN'
Following the hot and' extremely
dry spell which •had extended' fon- a-
bout three weeks a lovely shower of
rain fell last Wednesday .morning
which lasted for several' Hours and
which greatly benefited the farm and
garden crops. Some of the grain
was knocked down as" a result but
most of it is up again. The fall wheat
is about all cut now and' threshing
operations are under way, and the
erunple is good with a• good crop:.

HAY COUNCIL
The Council of the Township of
Hay met at the Township Hall, Zur-
ich, on Monday July 3rd, 1944 at
8.00 p.m. for their regular monthly
meeting.
The minutes of the previous meet-
ing were read and adoptea, after
which several items of correspond-
ence were dealt with.
The following motions were then
passed:

gown of white sheer with beaded
trimmings; fingertip veil; caught with
orange baassoms and 'tarried a bou-
quet of Butterfly roses. Miss Laura
Dinnin was her sister's; bridesmaid,
wearing a yellow organza floor

length gown with atbouquet of :Sun-
bea m roses. Mr. Mex. Munn of Hen-
sall, brother 61 the groom, was best
man, Mrs. Dinnin received wearing a
lime green printed sheer, and Mrs.
Munn wore navy blue crepe, both
wearing corsages of Butterfly roses.
A buffet luncheon was served with
twenty-five guests present. Those ser-
ving were Miss Beryl Pfaff, Hensel],
Miss Edna Mills and Mrs. Robt. Mac-
lntyre of ,Stratford. Later the bride
and groom left on a trip to North-
